  • Describe a person you would like to study or work with

Question – Describe a person you would like to study or work with
    You should say:
    – Who is that person?
    – Why would you like to study with him/her?
    – What will you study?

    • Typically, I prefer studying alone due to the challenges I face when studying with someone else.
    • However, there are occasions when I lack motivation to study or find certain subjects, like history, monotonous alone.
    • In such cases, I appreciate studying with a partner, and Yash, a former classmate from 10th standard, stands out as an excellent study companion according to my friends.
    • Yash possesses unique qualities, including a strong grasping power, patience in explaining concepts, and expertise in mnemonics—a skill I find particularly helpful for memorizing facts and figures.
    • In school, he crafted a mnemonic for the first twenty elements of the periodic table, which became widely popular and contributed to the ease of understanding chemistry in our class.
    • Yash’s willingness to share his knowledge is another reason I aspire to study with him, as he believes in the reciprocal nature of knowledge-sharing.
    • Currently pursuing a master’s in economics in Canada at the same college I’m interested in attending, I hope to meet Yash there and have the opportunity to study together.

    • Watching movies and TV series is a passion of mine, and I greatly appreciate actors who convincingly embody their characters, like Pankaj Tripathi.

    • In the lead role of “Sherdil” and as a lawyer in the crime TV series “Criminal Justice,” available on Hotstar, Tripathi delivers stellar performances, showcasing his versatile acting skills.

    • Despite humble beginnings, he persevered, arriving in Mumbai in 2004, with his breakthrough role in 2012.
    • Tripathi’s diverse roles in both movies and TV series have captivated audiences, making any movie, even with a minor role, compelling to watch till the end.

    • Pollution has become ubiquitous, making it challenging to find places with clean air.
    • I want to discuss the extreme air pollution I encountered during my visit to New Delhi last year with my parents.
    • Traveling by train and later hiring a three-wheeler, we felt a burning sensation in our eyes and noticed watering, realizing the stark contrast to the less polluted air in our small town in Punjab.
    • Observing the locals seemingly accustomed to the pollution, I found relief after washing my face at my relatives’ house.
    • My uncle explained that Delhi’s unplanned development, with industrial units scattered across residential and commercial areas, contributes to its status as one of India’s most polluted cities.
    • Additionally, Delhi’s landlocked geography, hindered by the Himalayas, traps polluted air.
    • Stubble burning in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan exacerbates the issue, creating a thick smog blanket over Delhi during winter months.
    • The severe health impact of air pollution includes a higher prevalence of chronic bronchitis.
    • Despite my temporary visit, I empathize with my relatives who permanently reside in Delhi, facing the ongoing challenges of its polluted environment.

    • The walk, conducted in our spacious living room, not only enhances physical well-being but also improves concentration in my studies and addresses my previous struggles with insomnia.

    • The five-day festivity envelops the entire country in a joyous atmosphere, marked by unique rituals and significances for each day.
    • Preparations commence well in advance, with people cleaning, adorning homes, acquiring new attire, and exchanging gifts with loved ones.
    • On the main day, countless oil lamps, candles, and decorative lights illuminate homes, while fireworks add to the festive spirit.
    • Families gather for traditional prayers, seeking blessings, and share feasts of delicious sweets and savory dishes with relatives and neighbors.
    • The festival fosters unity and togetherness, transcending differences and fostering a sense of celebration.
    • Despite the enchanting ambiance created by vibrant decorations, lights, and fireworks, Diwali also raises concerns about noise and air pollution due to extensive firecracker use.
    • The festival’s association with excessive consumerism, such as buying new clothes and gifts, can contribute to materialistic tendencies.
    • Diwali holds deep religious significance for Hindus, commemorating the return of Lord Rama, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.
    • Beyond Hinduism, Diwali is celebrated by diverse communities across India, serving as a unifying force that promotes harmony and inclusivity.
    • Diwali’s immense joy and enthusiasm, coupled with its religious, cultural, and social significance, make it an integral part of Indian heritage and identity, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness.

    You should say:

    • India’s dense population contributes to the frequent crowding of various places, including religious shrines, historical sites, bus terminals, and public gardens.
    • Focusing on a bustling spot, I’d like to discuss Elante Mall in Chandigarh, situated in the industrial area, where people consistently throng.
    • Constructed seven years ago with five floors, including two parking levels, the mall hosts global brand stores, particularly drawing crowds on weekends.
    • Offering diverse activities such as gaming, movie-watching, and dining, Elante Mall ensures an engaging experience for visitors.
    • My inaugural visit to this renowned mall occurred during winter, a month after its opening, accompanied by my Chandigarh-residing cousins.
    • Despite prior acclaim as one of the best malls in Asia, our firsthand exploration left us truly amazed, with the weekend atmosphere buzzing with happiness and excitement.
    • Taking advantage of festive sales and significant discounts, we indulged in shopping for new clothes at remarkable prices, spending an enjoyable five hours without realizing how swiftly time passed.

    • Rafting options range from 12 to 16 kilometers, suitable for all age groups, with safety measures such as helmets and life jackets provided.

    • Decision making plays a pivotal role in our lives, as we continually engage in the process, whether faced with significant or minor choices.
    • Avoiding decisions leads to a monotonous life, hindering progress and personal growth.
    • Today, I share an important decision I actively made with my sister’s guidance after completing my schooling/graduation.
    • Faced with the need to determine my life path, I grappled with the choice of a non-traditional course, seeking an option that promised both a promising future and intrinsic interest.

    You should say:
    – What happened
    – When and where it happened
    – Who you were with
    – And explain why it was a happy experience

    • I had a joyous childhood, thanks to my loving parents who went to great lengths to ensure happiness for my sister and me.
    • While they did scold and punish us occasionally for misdeeds, those instances were rare, leaving me with a plethora of delightful memories.
    • Today, I want to recount a memorable experience from my childhood when my parents, sister, and I visited Sikkim.
    • Coming from Punjab, where snowfall is a rarity, I had a strong desire to play in the snow, prompting my parents to choose Sikkim for our winter vacation.
    • Unlike the usual trend of visiting Sikkim in the summer to escape high temperatures, we were solely driven by the excitement of playing in the snow.
    • Fortunately, my maternal uncle, an army officer posted in Sikkim at the time, arranged accommodation for us at the army guest house.
    • With my uncle’s children being around the same age as us, we had a blast playing together throughout the day.
    • While my parents went shopping, leaving us kids at the guesthouse, we engaged in activities like building snowmen, having snow fights, and relishing some of the best food of our lives.
    • From morning till evening, we immersed ourselves in the snowy wonderland.
    • The guesthouse had two chefs who happily prepared any dish we requested.
    • Although the entire week is a bit of a blur, the reluctance to leave that enchanting place remains etched in my memory.
    • Despite making plans to return in the coming years, my uncle’s transfer to another location thwarted our intentions.
