Various tree species find cultivation in both my country and hometown. Among the popular choices are the Neem tree, Banyan tree, and Peepal tree, valued for their medicinal properties, provision of shade, and air-purifying qualities. Fruit-bearing trees such as Mango, Banana, and Papaya also enjoy widespread planting.

Certainly, I’ve actively participated in tree planting endeavors, particularly in my grandfather’s garden. Additionally, I’ve personally planted a Lemon tree and a Banana tree at my own residence.

Certainly, especially during the past year when I spent most of my time at home due to the pandemic. I discovered the joy of painting by learning art techniques through YouTube videos. Painting has become a source of happiness for me, providing relaxation and melting away my problems and worries.

To stay happy, I engage in various activities such as exercising, consuming nutritious meals, ensuring a good night’s sleep, and reading books during my free time. Additionally, talking to friends and family when feeling sad proves to be a beneficial way to uplift my mood.

Maintaining a perpetual state of happiness seems impossible, and it’s acceptable to experience moments of sadness. Given that we all confront challenges, it is entirely natural to encounter negative emotions like sadness, anger, and frustration. As emotional beings, we undergo a spectrum of feelings on a daily basis.

- How do you and your family celebrate New Year?
I typically celebrate New Year with my family and relatives, gathering at my grandfather’s home for the day. A big and lavish brunch is prepared by my mom and aunts. We engage in board games, watch movies together, visit the temple in the evening, and conclude the night with fireworks.
- Can you recall a specific New Year celebration?
Certainly, during my 10th-grade year, we opted to celebrate New Year in Goa instead of at my grandfather’s house. We stayed at a beachside resort in Goa, where the soothing sounds of the ocean waves greeted us in the morning. On New Year’s Eve, we attended a party on a ferry, dancing and celebrating the night away. It was such a memorable experience that I would love to relive.

On New Year’s Day (January 1st), there are no specific ceremonies in our country. Youngsters typically celebrate with friends, and most people prefer spending the day with their families. In various states of India, New Year celebrations align with the solar and lunar calendars, such as Baisakhi in Punjab and Pongal in Tamil Nadu.

- What was your favorite activity during your time in primary school?
In primary school, Art was my absolute favorite activity. The credit largely goes to my art teacher, who had a unique and enjoyable teaching style. She was patient, creative, and caring, encouraging us to draw from our hearts and always appreciating our creations.

I used the school bus as my mode of transportation to get to primary school. The bus stop was conveniently located right next to my house, attracting all my neighborhood friends who gathered there to catch the bus.

I held a strong fondness for my primary school. I forged many enduring friendships there that persist to this day. The teachers were knowledgeable, supportive, encouraging, and made the learning experience enjoyable. The school also offered a variety of extracurricular activities such as music, cricket, basketball, and more.

- Do you regularly use a wallet?
Indeed, I use a wallet every day to carry my credit cards, cash, and important receipts or documents. It is unsafe to carry loose cash and cards directly in pockets or bags. Additionally, a wallet provides protection for our valuables in case of rain.

Yes, there was a time when I lost my wallet on the bus. While on my way to college, I paid for my bus ticket, and upon disembarking, I realized my wallet was missing. Despite attempting to chase after the bus, I was unable to catch up.

Certainly, I gifted my father a wallet on his 40th birthday. He had been using the same wallet for years; it was very old, and the stitching was coming apart. Knowing he wouldn’t replace it unless absolutely necessary, I gave him a new one as a gift. He was very pleased when he saw my gift and still uses that wallet.

Yes, I enjoy wearing special costumes as they add an element of fun and allow us to showcase our creativity. The increasing popularity of Halloween in India can be attributed to our growing exposure to Western culture.

During my youth, my school organized fancy dress competitions. I distinctly recall winning the second prize one year when I dressed up as a Robot. My creative mother crafted the costume at home using aluminum foil-covered cardboard boxes. It turned out to be a cool costume, much appreciated by all my friends.

I wore a special costume last year for a friend’s birthday celebration. She arranged a Bollywood-themed party for her 18th birthday, and we were all required to dress up as famous actors or actresses. I chose to emulate actress Kangana Ranaut, replicating her look from the movie “Queen.”

I have never purchased special costumes. Instead, I prefer creating them at home using clothes and items I already possess.

I relax by engaging in gardening. Gardening connects me with nature and allows me to escape the daily stresses of life. Taking care of plants, watering them, and witnessing their growth brings me joy. Simply sitting in a garden after a busy day brings a sense of calm.

Car Trip
- Do you enjoy traveling by car?
Yes, I enjoy traveling by car, finding it convenient and time-saving compared to taking the bus. Although I also own a scooter, I prefer using the car, especially on hot summer days.
- When do you opt for car travel?
I prefer traveling by car when heading to places within my town or nearby cities (2-3 hours away). For longer journeys, I favor taking the train over the car, as many roads in various parts of my country are in poor condition, making long car trips unsafe and uncomfortable.
- What is the farthest destination you have reached by car?
The farthest place I have traveled by car is Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was a spontaneous trip due to my grandfather falling very ill, and with no available train tickets, my father and I took turns driving, reaching our destination in about 12 hours.
- Where do you like to sit when traveling by car, the front or back?
I prefer sitting in the front row, either driving the car or in the passenger seat. The front seat offers a better view, and even when I’m not driving, I like to keep an eye on traffic. Being in the front gives me a sense of control.

Yes, Indian people enjoy barbecue. Traditionally, barbecue in India involves cooking in a Tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven heated with charcoal or wood, imparting a smoky flavor to the food. While restaurants often use large tandoors, at home, people utilize small tandoors or grills. This culinary practice is particularly popular in North India.
- What type of barbecue food do you prefer?
My top choice for barbecue food is Tandoori chicken. The chicken is marinated in yogurt and Indian spices, then cooked on skewers in the tandoor. I also appreciate Naan, a grilled flatbread made by directly placing the dough on the walls of the hot clay oven.
- Would you prefer to have barbecue with family or friends?
I would like to enjoy barbecue with both family and friends. My strong bond with my family is complemented by the fact that most of my friends are acquainted with my parents and siblings.
