IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Introduction – Handwriting

Handwriting

  1. Do you believe handwriting remains important?
Yes, I do. Handwriting skills retain their significance, especially in formal business letters and resume writing. As we are part of a global village and compete worldwide for jobs in multinational companies, good writing skills are crucial.
  2. Could computers potentially replace handwriting one day?
Despite the technological advancements reducing the necessity for writing skills, I still consider them important in today’s world and anticipate their enduring relevance in the future.
  3. Do you typically handwrite or use a computer for writing?
It depends on the situation. Communication with friends through email or text is usually done via a computer or mobile phone. However, when studying and taking notes, I generally prefer handwriting.
  4. When do children start writing in your country?
Children nowadays commence writing at an earlier age. Typically joining school around the age of 4, they begin developing writing skills by the age of five.
  5. Do you foresee the demise of handwriting in the future?
No, certainly not. While the need for handwriting may decrease due to technology, there will still be numerous areas where handwriting remains essential. The widespread access to technology for every individual on earth is also a distant prospect.
  6. Do you engage in letter writing?
Yes, I do. I write emails to my friends and relatives.
  7. Should children be taught to write in the traditional manner?
Yes, I believe so. Writing is an art that is diminishing due to modern technology. The automatic spelling and grammar checks on computers contribute to the erosion of such skills among children.
