  • You are unhappy about a plan to make your local

You are unhappy about a plan to make your local airport bigger and increase the number of flights. You live near the airport.

Write a letter to your local newspaper. In your letter,

    • explain where you live
    • describe the problem
    • give reasons why you do not want this development

You should write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

    Begin your letter as follows:

    Dear Sir or Madam,

As a local, I would like to voice my opposition to the airport’s development because it will have numerous detrimental effects. I’m writing to ask that you write an editorial in your publication about the issues that the local airport’s expansion would bring about.

More than 2,000 people, including children and the elderly, live close to the Bogra International Airport where I live. Even without the frequent loud noises from the planes landing and taking off, living close to the airport is challenging. The noise level will rise to intolerable levels if there are more flights. People may experience extreme distress as a consequence of this. Moreover, the traffic situation on the nearby roads would deteriorate.

Furthermore, our beautiful park, which is vital to every local resident, will be reduced because the airport authority wishes to increase the area. As a result, the proposed development is opposed by everyone in our community. Please write an editorial in your newspaper expressing your disagreement with this needless and harmful development if you share my views.

I am excited to speak with you shortly.

    Yours faithfully,

    Shohag Khan

    Dear Sir or Madam,

I sincerely appreciate you giving me the chance to work as an internal auditor for KSM Chartered Accountants. I hate to notify you that I will not be able to join on the pre-arranged date even though I was meant to on November 1st. For any inconvenience this may have caused, I truly apologize.

Kindly allow me to clarify the reasons behind my inability to join your organization on the scheduled date. Regretfully, last week I sprained my ankle badly playing football with some old friends. I received medical care over the following few days after being hurried to the hospital. I will not be able to join your company on time because of my critical condition and the doctor’s advice to not walk for the next few days.

I am hoping you can sympathize with my desperate situation. I would prefer to start working on November 15th rather than my original joining date, which is two weeks later. In order for me to start working in your office right away after joining, I’m hoping you’ll let me join two weeks later than originally scheduled.

    Eagerly awaiting your response.

Question – You want to sell some of your furniture. You think a friend of yours might like to buy it from you.Write a letter to your friend. In your letter, explain why you are selling, describe the furniture, suggest a date when your friend can come and see the furniture. You should write at least 150 words.

    Dear ………………,

Wishing you well on your end. I am writing to you because I would prefer that you purchase some furniture that I am selling rather than some total strangers.

I’m attempting to sell some furniture because I intend to relocate for work purposes to a different city. I simply don’t want to transport them to that city because I know it will probably cause harm to them. Therefore, I figured it would be wise to inform you about the furniture before I sell it, just in case you’d be interested in purchasing it.

Speaking of which, the furniture consists of a large dining table made of mahogany tree, a few sofa chairs, and a few chairs made of oak wood. Given that they appear to be in good shape and condition, I believe you would enjoy the furniture. Additionally, the costs are fair.

So, feel free to stop by my place, ideally over the course of the next weekend, so you can look at my furniture and determine whether to buy it.

    Best wishes,

    Aman

    Dear Sir or Madam,

As a loyal customer of “Meena Bazar,” I’m writing to highlight a mishap during my November 28 visit, urging you to take preventive actions for others.

I’m Shadia Rahman, a resident of Banani and a patron for over three years. As a lecturer, your mart is my go-to for shopping.

Regrettably, the frozen food area at your Banani branch was slick, possibly due to technical issues or an inactive freezing system, compounded by housekeeping negligence. Unaware, I stepped on it, resulting in a minor injury. Considering your elderly clientele, prompt attention to such safety concerns is crucial.

I trust Meena Bazar’s management, including yourself, can take swift action. Prioritizing customer safety is vital. I suggest regular monitoring of electronic devices and engaging a diligent cleaning crew.

I appreciate your consideration and cooperation in advance.

    Yours faithfully,

As a family of three—my wife, our eight-year-old son, and myself—we’d like to extend an invitation to you for our upcoming party on Monday.

Monday marks our son’s eighth birthday, and we’ve decided to celebrate with friends and family starting at 7:00 p.m. until midnight. The event will include dancing, music, and a performance by a local band in the garden around 8:00 p.m. We anticipate some noise from the musical performance, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause.

Initially considering a phone call, I’ve decided to send this letter instead, as suggested by my spouse. We believe it would be more suitable.

We truly hope you can join us for our son’s birthday celebration. Accepting our invitation would not only make the event more enjoyable but also give us the chance to get to know each other better.

    Dear …………….,

I rent one of your properties on William Street, Norwood. To draw your attention to some of the inferior furniture you provided as part of our rental agreement, I am writing this letter. I hope you will replace or fix the broken ones.

Just to be clear, my family and I have been residing in apartment 17B for the past four months. Initially, we were thrilled to move into this apartment; however, we were soon let down to discover that some of the appliances and furniture were old and had been destroyed. The living room sofa set is the worst of all; not only are they not usable due to the faded cushion color, but one leg of the coffee table is also broken. Furthermore, there are no door locks on the grocery cupboard, and the kitchen refrigerator does not consistently maintain the proper temperature. In summary, several items and items of furniture you have provided are defective.

I kindly ask that you look into this matter immediately. I kindly ask that you replace the refrigerator and make arrangements for the living room furniture’s upkeep and repairs. A locksmith can prepare new keys for the cupboard. Since these issues are affecting our way of life and general well-being, I anticipate that you will take immediate action on this.

    Best Regards,

    Abhishek

Wishing you continued success. With you guys, I had a great time. I appreciate your wonderful photos that you sent me yesterday as well as the amazing holiday you had in your city.

Particularly up in the region where you are, Canada is undoubtedly a magnificent country with an amazing landscape, a lively culture, and wildlife. The holiday is over, but the way you treated me was amazing, and I will always remember it.

I apologize for the delay in responding and expressing my gratitude. I returned to Italy, and almost immediately I was swamped with office work. In addition, a bad cold kept me out of the office for several days, and I had trouble getting back into the swing of things at home and at work.

You two have my invitation to come to Italy. Next month is our parent’s 40th wedding anniversary, and I am looking forward to seeing you on this momentous occasion. I will show you around some of Italy’s most well-known locations, including Rome. Rome is renowned for its stunning cathedrals and Renaissance architecture, as well as for being home to the Vatican City and other historic Roman buildings. You will have a great time here, I’m sure.

I hope to see you two very soon. Please write back and take care.

    Best wishes,

    .

    Dear Anjali,

Sorry I have not gotten back to you lately; I hope everything is good with you and your family. I am writing to inform you of my recent resignation from my previous employer and my acceptance of a new position.

Recall how I expressed my excitement about switching jobs to you when I was employed at a consulting firm? I joined a travel agency last month, and I am enjoying my new position. In all honesty, I did not get paid well at my previous job, even though I put in a lot of overtime. I thus essentially applied for a job at a new company that was seeking individuals who are eager to take on challenges and have an interest in traveling. I seized the chance because I felt it aligned well with my expectations.

Although I was a little anxious during the interview, I ultimately got the position of senior travel consultant. I no longer must put in long hours, the working conditions are excellent, and the pay is better at my new job. In addition, they provide performance bonuses, and I would have the opportunity to travel and see a lot of different places!

A new travel blog has been started, and I have enrolled in a diploma course at the University of Edinburgh. This week, my parents are visiting me, and I have arranged to take them around the city.

    Observe caution.

    From the heart,

    Kriti
