IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Introduction – Decoration

Decoration

  1. How do you decorate your home?
My home boasts an abundance of wall art featuring family photographs. In the living room, there’s a painting portraying my mom’s childhood residence against a backdrop of a scenic field adorned with yellow flowers. Houseplants are strategically placed throughout, not just for aesthetic appeal but also for their numerous health benefits. Additionally, my kitchen showcases a collection of vibrant pottery pieces exhibited on open shelves.
  2. What decorating style do you lean towards?
I lean towards an ethnic traditional Indian decor style. Vibrant colors dominate my preference, with a penchant for colorful paintings, floral arrangements, and indoor plants. I also appreciate the warmth and coziness brought by accessories like cushions and area rugs.
  3. Do people in India enjoy decorating their homes?
Certainly, the people of India display a strong inclination towards home decoration, driven by their inherent creativity. While some opt for a traditional aesthetic, adorning their spaces with ethnic textiles and embroidered tapestries, others embrace a more contemporary approach.
  4. What’s your preferred color for home decoration?
When it comes to decorating my home, I favor the color yellow, reminiscent of the sun. Symbolizing happiness, warmth, energy, and positivity, yellow has the ability to brighten up any space. In fact, I’ve painted one of the walls in my bedroom with this lively hue.
