IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Introduction – History

History

  1. Have you ever visited a museum to study history?
Yes, I visited the Partition Museum in Amritsar last year. It opened in 2017 and is situated about a 5-minute walk from the Golden Temple. It boasts a rich collection of stories, events, arts, and artifacts related to the partition of India in 1947. Listening and reading about the sufferings of millions of people brought tears to my eyes.
  2. Do you believe history holds significance?
Yes, history is crucial. Numerous events have shaped the world, and delving deep into history allows us to understand these events. It also aids in gaining insights into other cultures. Since history tends to repeat itself, it’s essential to learn from past mistakes to avoid repeating them in the future.
  3. When did you last peruse a history book?
I last read a history book during my summer break last year. The book I delved into was “The Discovery of India,” written by India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, during his imprisonment at Ahmednagar fort from 1942-1946.
