IELTS Speaking Part 1 – Introduction – Weather

Weather

  1. What is the prevailing weather in your region?
I reside in Punjab, characterized as a semi-arid region with mainly hot and dry weather. However, during the monsoons, there is abundant rainfall, leading to hot and humid conditions.
  2. Do you have a preference for cold or hot weather?
I lean towards cold weather as I find myself more productive in such conditions. Hot weather tends to make me feel lazy and lethargic.
  3. Do you favor dry or wet weather?
I have a fondness for rain, possibly because I live in a dry region that receives minimal rainfall.
  4. Do you regularly check the weather forecast? When and how often?
I typically don’t check the weather forecast except during the monsoons. Given the unpredictable nature of rainfall during this season, I check the forecast before leaving home. If rain is expected, I carry an umbrella.
  5. What do you believe are the impacts of recent climate change?
There have been significant changes, with one notable effect being the alteration of seasons. Summers have become hotter and more prolonged. Previously, it used to be cold around Diwali, celebrated in October/November, but now it is warm.
  6. Would you be interested in visiting cities with different climates from your own?
Certainly, I enjoy visiting cities with cold climates since Punjab experiences very hot and warm weather. Exploring hill stations is a particular preference. Additionally, I also appreciate visiting coastal cities for the beaches.
