Speaking Part 1- Introduction – Transport

Transport

  1. How do you go to work/school?
    • I commute to work in a city located approximately 25 km from my hometown, utilizing the public bus system. Navigating traffic near my office proves challenging, and parking is scarce, with expensive options available in paid parking garages.
  2. What is the most popular means of transportation in your hometown?
    • Scooters dominate as the primary mode of transportation in my hometown. Despite many residents owning cars, scooters remain popular due to the town’s small size and the presence of narrow roads, making car travel challenging in certain areas. For longer journeys to nearby towns, the public transport system, particularly buses, is widely used.
  3. How far is it from your home to work or school?
    • My workplace in Jalandhar is approximately 25 km from my hometown, Phagwara. I choose to reside in my hometown due to its more affordable housing and living expenses compared to Jalandhar. Additionally, it offers a less crowded and more peaceful environment.
  4. Do you think people will drive more in the future?
    • There is an expectation that people will not increase their driving in the future. Current road congestion issues and limitations in infrastructure capacity discourage a surge in private car usage. The government is actively enhancing the public transport system to expand its reach and provide more convenience compared to private cars.
