Follow ups questions for-Talk about an interesting old person

Talk about an interesting old person you met recently

1. Do you think old people and young people can share the same interest?
Sometimes, it might be challenging for old people and young people to share the same interests. Young individuals, being more energetic, often prefer outdoor sports, whereas older individuals may only engage in activities that are not physically demanding. However, both age groups can share common interests in TV programs, movies, and indoor games.

2. What skills can the old teach the young?
Old people today have witnessed significant changes in their lifetime. My grandfather, for instance, has shared stories about the challenges he faced when there were no vehicles, and horses were the primary mode of transportation. Having experienced various technological advancements, such as the evolution of music from radio to gramophones, cassette players, CDs, DVDs, and finally, iPods and mobile phones, they can impart crucial life skills such as adaptability, versatility, and openness to change to the younger generation.

3. What skills can the young teach the old?
Young people, adept at learning modern technology and proficient in operating gadgets, can certainly teach these skills to the older generation. Additionally, as younger individuals enter various businesses, they possess a better understanding of negotiation techniques, which can be valuable for older people seeking good bargains.

4. Do you think the old people should live with their family?
Ideally, old people should live with their families. If that’s not feasible for some reason, they should reside in old age homes rather than living alone, as living alone can pose risks to their well-being.

5. Do you think the old and the young can have the same interests?
Sharing the same interests may sometimes be challenging for old and young people due to differences in energy levels and preferences for physical activities. However, it would be inaccurate to claim that they cannot share common interests. Both age groups can find common ground in TV programs, movies, and indoor games.

6. Do you think people are more selfish or self-centred than in the past?
No, people are not necessarily more selfish or self-centered than in the past. Modern individuals are often more ambitious and busier, leaving them with limited free time to assist friends or family members. This prioritization of work is not necessarily selfish but reflects the demands of a fast-paced lifestyle.
