You are due to start a new job next week but you will not be able to because you have some problems.
Write a letter to your new employer. In your letter:
- explain your situation
- describe your problems
- tell him/her when you think you can start
You should write at leastΒ 150Β words.
You doΒ NOTΒ need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I sincerely appreciate you giving me the chance to work as an internal auditor for KSM Chartered Accountants. I hate to notify you that I will not be able to join on the pre-arranged date even though I was meant to on November 1st. For any inconvenience this may have caused, I truly apologize.
Kindly allow me to clarify the reasons behind my inability to join your organization on the scheduled date. Regretfully, last week I sprained my ankle badly playing football with some old friends. I received medical care over the following few days after being hurried to the hospital. I will not be able to join your company on time because of my critical condition and the doctor’s advice to not walk for the next few days.
I am hoping you can sympathize with my desperate situation. I would prefer to start working on November 15th rather than my original joining date, which is two weeks later. In order for me to start working in your office right away after joining, I’m hoping you’ll let me join two weeks later than originally scheduled.
